Nestlé Cameroon partners with Ministry of Women Empowerment and Family

On 29th March 2016, Nestlé and Cameroon’s Ministry of Women Empowerment and Family signed a partnership agreement to reinforce their collaboration with the objective of promoting the wellbeing of families and women. This is a key milestone in Nestlé Cameroon’s ambition to support local authorities respond to national nutrition and health challenges.

“Nestlé’s ambition to be the leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness Company is highlighted in this partnership. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Family is in line with our global commitments to promote healthy diets and lifestyles, and provide education programmes for good nutrition and feeding practices”, stated Hervé Barrere during the launch ceremony.

Activities under the partnership include training sessions in nutrition education and sensitization campaigns, as well as capacity building in women promotion centers to help them acquire best practices in nutrition and lifestyle for the wellbeing of their family. The trainings will be deployed in all ten regions of Cameroon.

“I have great hopes that this collaboration will be fruitful, and will contribute to significantly enhance the lives of Cameroonian women and their families,” said Catherine Abena, Minister of Women Empowerment and Family.

The strategic objective of the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Family is to empower women to play an important role in society and to become economically autonomous in order to promote stable and harmonious families. Through this three-year partnership, Nestlé Cameroon aims to contribute to building healthy communities.
