Nominations are open for the next Nestlé Prize in Creating Shared Value

Nominations for the 2016 Nestlé Creating Shared Value Prize are now being accepted. The closing date is 28 February 2015. Winners will win up to CHF 500 000 - an investment that could make a significant difference in helping to scale up or replicate business-oriented initiatives addressing challenges in nutrition, water or rural development.

About the Prize
The Nestlé CSV Prize is awarded every second year. Its overall aim is to reward the best examples of Creating Shared Value (CSV) initiatives worldwide and to encourage others to adopt this approach. CSV runs deep throughout Nestlé’s global operations and is based on the belief that for a company to be successful in the long term and create value for its shareholders, it must also create value for society.

In selecting the winner, the Creating Shared Value Council will be looking for an entry that is innovative, applies environmentally sustainable practices, has demonstrated results on a small scale and can be viably scaled-up to help improve people’s lives.

In 2014, the Prize was awarded to three organisations:
  • Winner: Honey Care Africa (HCA) won the overall Creating Shared Value Prize for its Sweeter South Sudan programme, which helps farmers generate additional income from honey production.
  • Runner-up: MSABI was selected for its True Life Water Point programme that provides access to safe water and sanitation.
  • Runner-up: Sanergy was selected for its Sustainable Sanitation in Africa’s Informal Settlements programme to make affordable and hygienic sanitation accessible to people in low income urban areas.
