Alhaji Kassim, Nestlé Ghana MILO Ambassador Distributes 2000 Sports Boots

Nestlé Ghana Limited and Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, winner of the 2013 Accra MILO Marathon have donated 2,000 boots to under-privileged children who have shown an inclination for sports, part of the Accra MILO Marathon reward initiative.

Supporting Unearth Talents, Commitment to the Underprivileged

200 boots were donated in the 10 regions of Ghana with the help of Alhaji Kassim, supported by officials of the Ghana Education Service (GES). 

The boots were sent to schools in far flung corners of Ghana, bringing joy to the recipients, some of whom have never owned any pair of sports shoes.

Commenting on the donation, Country Manager for Nestlé Ghana, Moataz El Hout, stated: “As a brand which is easily identified with sports, MILO does not only support the unearthing and celebration of talents as was seen in the 27th Accra MILO® marathon, but it is also committed to the development of our communities”.

Donation to touch more children in the coming years

One of the beneficiary pupils, 11-year old Kwadwo Baah of Tontro M/A Primary School in the Eastern Region could not hide his joy after receiving his gift from the MILO Ambassador:

“I am very excited about my new MILO® shoe. I want to be a champion like Alhaji Kassim and, after that, also make an effort to assist the needy”.

MILO® hopes to continue this gesture on a yearly basis to touch more children and communities in the country.

The 2013 marathon, which took place on September 21st with 3,000 school children drawn from the length and breadth of the country participating in the 5 Km U-15 race. The mass sport had over 3000 participants, bringing the total number of participants to 8000.  

Through this donation, MILO commits to enhance sport and also to raise its brand in Ghana.
