Build Knowledge Leadership in Children’s Nutrition

Our company aims to develop products and education services that support parents in ensuring the healthy growth and development of their children.

To achieve this, we are committed to developing a deep understanding of the factors that determine children’s dietary intakes, lifestyle habits and health status.

We use data from recognised international organisations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), to guide our product formulation, consumer communication and educational programmes.

Our Progress

In Cameroon, we are sponsoring a clinical study on iron deficiency, nutritional status and the dietary habits of children under five years old in five areas in the country.

This two-phase study is led by the Infant Nutrition Research Unit at the Nutrition Centre of the Medical Research and Medicinal Plant Studies Research Institute of Cameroon.

During phase one, the research will look at iron deficiency, nutritional status and the feeding habits of about 1,800 infants and children aged between six to nine months.

Phase two will include the evaluation of the efficiency of an iron-enriched cereal to address iron deficiency of children aged under five. Over a period of six months, a group of 100 children will be given Cerelac Wheat fortified with iron, while another group of 100 children will be given non-fortified Cerelac Wheat. The results are due to be finalised and published in 2016.
