1970
  • 1930s - Nestlé had a depot in Accra till 1934 or 1939, managed by Nestlé and Anglo-Swiss Milk Products Ltd. There was a lot of trade (Nestle products) before and after WWII. This was mainly through import. As import duties increased and demand went higher, then NESTLE decided to build a factory in Ghana at Tema. 
  • 1970s – IDEAL Milk was first produced in Ghana right after the commissioning of the Tema Factory in 1971. The brand and product name IDEAL Milk in a Full Cream Milk in a 170g tin. IDEAL and Milo used a yellow paper label for the tins. It always had the signature blue stripes and was packed in a box (paper carton) of 96 tins. The number of tins in a pack was later reduced to 48 tins due to economic hardship faced by consumers.
  • 1995 – Carnation Tea Creamer was introduced.
  • 1998 – The company disposed of the case machine. Capacity was increased when a filling line in Senegal was dismantled and installed in Tema.
  • 1999 - IDEAL Lite was introduced. This was a low-fat evaporated Milk developed for the health-conscious career-minded woman of 18 – 25 years. A new feature was added later to provide consumers with recipes which were placed behind the label. After then promotions were done on the paper label.
2000

Early 2000's

  • 2002 – The fat content of Peak Milk was (9%) which was higher (they were competing and communicating on this) than IDEAL (8%), so the recipe for IDEAL Milk was improved to 9%. With the creaminess of the milk enhanced, the milk was made thicker with a stronger and powerful whitening effect on tea and beverages. This was communicated on the label of the tin (Now Creamier). The business downsized pack of 48 tins to 24 tins in a case. In this same year, IDEAL moved from paper carton to tray with shrink wrap thus changing carton machine to a shrink wrapper.
  • 2003 – Distribution center built and commissioned. Before then distribution, loading and selling all took place from the factory.
  • 2004 – IDEAL Milk 410g was introduced due to feedback received from an association formed with Tea Sellers who recommended the quantity be increased so they could use more of the milk.
  • 2006 to 2008 – The name of the Milk was changed to IDEAL Original (Still 170g). This was because IDEAL Balance 170g was introduced in the same period and the brand team needed to distinguish between the two. Also, within the same period, IDEAL Value was also introduced in a 410g format.
2014

Late 2000's

  • 2014 – IDEAL Original and IDEAL Balance was downsized from 170g to 160g and 410g to 390g.
  • 2016 – IDEAL changed from paper label to litho design.
  • 2017 to 2019 : 2017 Easy open was introduced for IDEAL tins and discontinued in 2019. 520g was also introduced in 2018 and discontinued in 2019.
  • 2019 - IDEAL Mini (29g) was launched in Ghana, the first retort laminate filled with evaporated milk in Nestle. Only other was Purina (pet food).
  • 2020 - New addition to the IDEAL family, IDEAL Creamy was launched. In the same year IDEAL Value and IDEAL Balance were discontinued.
  • 2021 - Moved back to the paper labels.

IDEAL MILK GOLDEN JUBILEE 2022 PROMOTION

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY AND PARTICIPATION 

Agency: TXT Ghana Limited (the “Agency”)

Client: Nestlé Ghana Limited (the “Client”)


1. Introduction 
1.1.   The following terms and conditions apply exclusively to IDEAL MILK GOLDEN JUBILEE 2022 promotion (the “Promotion”).
1.2.   By participating in this Promotion, each Participant fully and unconditionally agrees to these Terms and Conditions (the “T&C’s”).
1.3.   These T&C’s may be reviewed at the Client’s discretion without any further recourse to the Participants. Participants are thus required to check the Client’s Facebook Page @IDEAL Milk Ghana regularly for such changes. Changes shall be effective from the date they are uploaded unto the Client’s Facebook page @IDEAL Milk Ghana.
1.4.   Participants acknowledge that they have read and understood and will comply with these T&C’s.
 
2. Eligibility
2.1.   This Promotion is open only to individuals aged 18 years and above.
2.2.   The Promotion shall be valid in Ghana only therefore participation is restricted to persons who are legally resident in Ghana.
2.3.    Employees of the Client and the Agency and their immediate families (including spouses, parents, children and siblings), distributors and direct wholesalers of the Client, and all other suppliers and third parties directly involved with the facilitation of this Promotion are NOT eligible to participate in this Promotion.
2.4.   The Agency and/or client reserves the right to disqualify a Participant who breaches the T&C’s hereof or otherwise fraudulently accesses the Promotion or unfairly influences the course of the Promotion.

3. Entry
3.1.   Names: Participants must enter this Promotion using their full legal name as stated on a valid national ID. The Agency reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who uses multiple names or any false names, and such Participants may be required to return to the Agency, any prize they may have won.
3.2.   Retrospective Effect: where a Participant that receives a prize has not complied fully with the T&C’s or has been found to be in breach of any of the T&Cs of the Promotion, particularly where a Participant is in breach of the entry restrictions, the Agency reserves the right to disqualify that Participant and require the return or reimbursement of any prize even where the prize has already been awarded and/or provided to the Participant in question.

4. Promotion Period
4.1.   The Promotion starts from Midday (12:00 noon) 16th of May 2022  and ends on Midday (12:00 noon) 24th of June 2022 the (“Promotional Period”).
4.2.   The Client and/or the Agency reserves the right to extend the Promotional Period as it deems necessary or cancel, discontinue or suspend the Promotion as well as vary prizes on the occurrence of any event beyond the control of the Agency and/or the Client with or without notice to the general public.

5. Promotion Mechanics 
5.1    To participate in the Promotion, a Participant is required to buy a special edition tin of IDEAL Original 160g or 390g with a 50th Anniversary Label.
5.2    Peel the label to reveal a unique code. Text the code to *380*10# free of charge.
5.3.   Participants who text codes correctly to *380*10# will enter a weekly draw where:
a. 50 Participants can win cash prizes of GHC500.00 (for 160g IDEAL Original Winners) and;
b. 50 other Participants can win cash prizes of  GHC300.00 (for 390g IDEAL Original Winners) in weekly draws starting from the 27th of May 2022.
5.4.   In addition to point 5.3 above, all Participants who do not win in the weekly draws will be entered into a grand draw where:
a. 50 of 160g IDEAL Original Winners will be drawn and there is a chance for a lucky 160g IDEAL Original Winner to win a car and for 49 other 160g IDEAL Original Winners drawn to win fridges (09) and television sets (10) in Ascending Order .
b. 50 of 390g IDEAL Original Winners can win electronic appliances.
5.5.   There is no restriction on the number of times an individual can participate however, a Participant can ONLY win ONCE through the weekly draws. (There would be 4 weekly draws and 1 grand draw.)
5.6     Prizes will be presented to the Participants drawn at Awards Ceremonies to be organized by the Agency subject to the Client’s availability (date, time, and location to be communicated by the Agency).
5.7.    Prizes are redeemable in Ghana only and are non-transferable. In the event a winner fails to redeem his/her prize within twenty-eight (28) working days of notification, the winner’s right to the prize will automatically lapse.
5.8.    Winners of prizes will be required to present a valid national ID card / Telephone number for verification and have their pictures taken prior to redeeming their prizes and for subsequent audit purposes.
5.9.    Winners of prizes irrevocably agree to take part in publicity events such as press conferences, radio and television interviews and commercials, delivering written or spoken testimonials among other social engagements as and when called upon by the Agency.
5.10    Under no circumstances shall Participants be required to send money, airtime or any other form of consideration (monetary or otherwise) to participate in the Promotion and/or claim prizes. Any requirement of such nature is fraudulent. The Agency and/or Client shall not be held liable for the acts of such fraudsters. Participants are entreated to report such activities by Nestlé toll-free line 0800120001 between the hours of 8am-5pm, Mondays to Fridays
5.11.   The Agency and/or the Client shall further not be liable for:
a. Any technical failure or malfunction, or any other problem with any machine, telephone network or system, service provider, software or otherwise that may result in a lost or unrecorded entry or missing characters on the promotional packs or non-receipt of any rewards
b.Any unforeseen defects in promotional materials supplied or manufactured by third parties, including but not limited to codes and prizes.
c. Any third-party claim for any damage arising out of any act of a Participant.

6. Release and Authorization
6.1    By entering this Promotion, Participants agree to the communication and publication of their names, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period at any time in any territory through any medium of release (mass media, digital media, etc.) and to receiving brand messages from The Agency and/or Client. The Agency will however not be liable for any unauthorized use, reproduction, adaptations and publication of the images by third parties.
6.2    By taking part in this Promotion, each Participant releases and indemnifies the Agency and the Client (including their officers, employees and subcontractors) from and against all actions, liabilities, penalties, claims or demands the Participant may have against the Agency and/or the Client or that the Agency and/or the Client may incur for any loss or damage which is or may be suffered or sustained as a direct or indirect result of participation in the Promotion or winning or failing to win a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law or which would cause any part of this clause to be void or unenforceable.   

7. Variation and Disqualification 
7.1 The Agency and/or client reserves the right to cancel, amend or vary this Promotion and the rules thereof at any time with or without prior notice to the general public.
7.2 The Agency and/or client shall further reserve the right, at its sole discretion to refuse a prize winner his or her prize upon the said winner’s involvement in any of the following incidents:
a. Actual or suspected fraud in relation to the Promotion; or
b. Any attempt to disrupt, tamper with or unfairly influence the Promotion, or its operation mechanism.
c. Breach of any of these terms and conditions; and
d. Any other misconduct or unacceptable act as may be determined by the Agency and/or the Client.
7.3 In the event a participant is disqualified, that participant shall forfeit his or her prize. In addition, the Agency and/or the Client shall reserve the right to take appropriate legal action against the said Participant.
