Nestlé Nigeria honored with Awards

SERAS AWARDS

Nestlé Nigeria emerged winner of the Best Company in the Eradication of Hunger and Food Security category at the SERAS CSR Africa Awards 2020. This is in recognition of the company’s efforts to improve farmers’ grain quality and productivity by providing training on sustainable farming practices.

Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Nestlé Nigeria, Victoria Uwadoka, spoke at the event saying, “We are honored that the company’s efforts in the Eradication of Hunger and ensuring Food Security have been recognized at the 2020 SERAS awards.”

Nestlé Nigeria is also pleased to announce Chioma Obinna of Vanguard Newspapers as the winner of the Nestlé Prize for Nutrition Reporting Category in recognition of her article, titled: “Why 27 million Nigerian children are not doing well in school’. She was also awarded first runner up for story titled “Nigeria’s Severely Wasted Children: The Inside Story” in the same category.

Coming in as the second runner up is Dayo Ojerinde from Punch Newspapers with his article “When Roadside Fruits Sellers Become Carriers of Poison”

Nestlé Nigeria also received a recognition award for supporting nutrition reporting since 2018, by recognizing and celebrating excellence among nutrition and health writers.
