Nestlé Emerges Champion at FMCG Games

 

Nestlé Nigeria has emerged overall Champions of the just concluded Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Games. This is the first time Nestlé Nigeria has emerged as both Football and Overall Champions of the Nigeria FMCG Games. Officials of Media Vision Limited, organizers of the games, presented the plaque to the winners in Lagos on Wednesday.

The excitement was palpable as the champions were celebrated and decorated. According to a statement by Media Vision, Nestlé’s dominance at the Nigeria FMCG Games reached new heights as the team hauled in 9 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals, and 4 Bronze medals, inclusive of the Football Gold.

Commenting at the ceremony, Jimmy Sogbesan, Chief Operating Officer of Media Vision Limited, said “FMCG games is an opportunity to drive employee engagement and team building. I would like to commend your team for their conduct on and off the pitch.”

Also speaking at the event, the MD/CEO of Nestlé’s Nigeria, Mr. Mauricio Alarcón, commended his team for making the company proud.

“We are very proud of what you have achieved as a team. You showed excellent form and displayed great sportsmanship throughout the game. I congratulate every member of the team who was on the field and everyone who cheered us on to victory.”

“As a health and wellness company with a purpose to enhance quality of life and contribute to a healthier future for individuals and families, we will continue to support participation in sporting activities which not only build the body, but also promote the learning of key life skills including team spirit, stamina and discipline,” Mr. Alarcón Said.

The Nigeria FMCG Games is a platform that brings employees together to compete, have fun, bond and network in a sportive and friendly atmosphere.This year saw some of Nigeria’s biggest FMCG companies competing against each other for a chance to be crowned champions of their sector. These comprise Unilever Plc., Friesland Campina WAMCO,Guinness Nigeria, Reckitt Benckiser and Nestlé Nigeria.

Nestlé emerged victorious not only in football but also in athletics, scrabble, table tennis and chess, dominating in the FMCG 2018 games.
