Food Insecurity And Malnutrition

40 million
1,000,000 s
3,000,000,000 people

Today, healthy and nutritious foods are out of reach for 3 billion people around the world.
40 million out of 308 million inhabitants across the West African region are undernourished and suffer from chronic malnutrition.

Every year, the food crisis affects millions of people across the west African region, particularly in Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Mali, and Nigeria, where people are forced from their homes into different communities.

Vegetables, fruits, and proteins that are high in essential vitamins and nutrients are often less affordable in developing countries. The lack of adequate food and nutrition is the most critical issue facing children in Africa today.

The urgency to transform the food system has never been greater. We need to lift current barriers and address the challenges that are preventing people from eating the best food for their health; the good quality food our bodies need and that all people deserve to have access to.
