How to help reduce climate change

Small changes in the wrong direction over a long time have led us here and now, small changes in the right direction over time will take us back to better days for future generations. Below are some tips:

-

Reduce your energy use. Since the earth’s water for hydro power and fossil fuels are limited, small energy efficient changes to the way you consume electricity at home and at work can translate to these natural resources lasting longer.

-

Renewable energy is even better. Adopting energy that is produced from seemingly limitless sources such as the sun and wind will ensure that our planets energy needs will be met without the depletion of our natural resources.

-

Protect and take care of parks and gardens. Trees reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, thereby reducing air pollution and help regulate atmospheric temperature by cooling

-

Fly less. Try video conferencing instead. The amount of greenhouse gases emitted by large aircrafts can be reduced thanks to the power of the internet.

-

Make your voice heard in the corridors of power. Write to your member of Parliament, encouraging him or her to take the climate change cause seriously and push for legislation that will help achieve our aim of reduced emissions. As noble as our efforts at reducing our carbon footprints are, it is our governments and leaders that can institute change on a mass scale to bolster our individual efforts.
