As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we take a moment to share the inspirational stories of women in Central and West Africa, joining our voices with many around the world to call for sustained action towards women empowerment and inclusion. We are excited about the contribution women are making in Central and West Africa.

Meet Joelle Abega-Oyouomi, Head of Nestlé’s Research & Development Centre in Africa! We invite you to watch this video where she shares her experience as a first woman and African Scientist managing the largest Research and Development Centre in Africa.

Joelle also reaches out to encourage women regardless of their professional backgrounds to dare to make a difference knowing that their ultimate interest and good should be at the centre of every decision they make in the course of their career.

We are proud of Joelle’s work, managing a team that is helping to adapt local taste and ingredients to drive innovation and growth in our business.

This year’s global theme #PressforProgress, reminds us that the call for diversity and inclusion for women requires collective action from all of us: individuals, families, communities, society and governments. The debate about progress for gender balance and equity in the workplace and in society starts with developing mindsets that offers all, regardless of their gender, the ability to develop and express their full potential to contribute to growing economies in Central and West Africa.
