Healthy living in Africa Campaign : Beat Diabetes | Nestlé

Studies show that eating first thing in the morning can help stabilise blood sugar levels, which regulate appetite and energy. In turn this helps reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes. Going too long without eating, puts your body into starvation mode. When you finally give in to your hunger later in the day, and probably overeat, your body will grab all the fat from your meal and store it which leads to weight gain. For diabetics as well as stabilising blood sugar levels, a good breakfast helps “remind” beta cells in the pancreas to release insulin.
