Adding sea salt to your water can help fight dehydration, according to scientists. Conventional wisdom would suggest that salt makes you more thirsty, but that is only half true. Table salt which is made of mainly sodium chloride and has had most of the minerals removed will make you more thirsty, whereas sea salt which contains more than 84 minerals and nutrients leaves you feeling more refreshed.
